Donald Walsh
Donald J. Walsh, 90, of Zelienople, formerly of Crescent Township, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025, while under the care of Passavant Retirement Community.
Born Oct. 21, 1934, in Troy, N.Y., he was the son of the late George F. Walsh and Margaret M. Carroll Walsh.
Donald was a 1952 graduate of Troy High School. Enlisting in the U.S. Navy on July 27, 1953, he served his country proudly in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired on July 27, 1976, after attaining the rank of master chief petty officer. Donald was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Fleet Reserve Association, VFW Post 499 of Evans City and the American Legion Post 474 of Zelienople. Donald will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his sons, Christopher S. Walsh and his wife, Patricia J. McLean, of Harmony, and Damian J. Walsh of Coraopolis, Pa.; his grandchildren, Taylor Christina (Grant) Craig, McLean Walsh and Spencer Walsh; his great-granddaughter, Violet Craig; and his sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Larkin of Troy, N.Y.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Laucretia “Tish” (Struth) Walsh, whom he married at Pearl Harbor on Aug. 4, 1962; his sisters, Helene Collins of Glens Falls, N.Y., and Joan Powell of South Glens Falls, N.Y.; and his brother, Bernard Walsh.
WALSH — Friends of Donald J. Walsh, who died Sunday, April 6, 2025, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, at St. Gregory Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople.
Donald will be laid to rest with full military honors at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville.
