Police reports
The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts:
April 2 — Miller P. Marks, 36, of Mars, was charged with one felony count each of receiving stolen property and conspiracy to receive stolen property, and one misdemeanor count each of DUI, controlled substance possession and drug paraphernalia possession following a March 15 traffic stop. Police said Marks was driving a stolen vehicle, showed signs of impairment and had eight glassine bags containing a white powdery substance, disposable lighters, small rubber bands, a small piece of tin foil burned on one side and a small section of drinking straw with a white powdery residue.
March 25 — Curtis W. Hedglin, 24, of Butler, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of controlled substance possession and drug paraphernalia possession following a Feb. 26 traffic stop. Police said Hedglin had a marijuana cigarette, a meth pipe and a pill bottle with white powder residue.
March 28 — Brian E. Leinenbach, 53, of Butler, was charged with felony theft related to a Feb. 9 incident. Police said Leinenbach stole a vehicle.
March 31 — Daniel P. Hughes, 28, of Oceanside, Calif., was charged with felony controlled substance possession by an inmate following a March 28 incident. Police said Hughes had a smoking device when being processed into Butler County Prison.
March 26 — Rody M. Batykefer, 55, of Butler, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of theft and receiving stolen property related to a March 5 incident. Police said Batykefer stole a wallet valued at $73.
March 26 — Keith A. Kaiser, 28, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft related to a Sept. 16 incident. Police said Kaiser stole $500.84 of merchandise from Walmart.
6:18 p.m. April 3 — Police investigated a one-vehicle crash at the intersection of Litman Road and Litman Grove Lane. Police said Sean A. Vargo, 22, of Cabot, was involved in the crash. The cause is being investigated.
March 27 — Tyler G. Allison, 27, of Cranberry Township, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault following a March 26 incident. Police said Allison threw a pregnant woman to the ground, causing injury to her head, back and body.
April 1 — Veera V. Velicheti, 56, of Mars, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of bad checks, theft and receiving stolen property related to a March 31 incident. Police said Velicheti used a bad check to pay for $997.14 in merchandise from Costco. Police said the store was charged a $25 fee for the returned check.
April 2 — Marco Triplett, 47, of Chicago, was charged with felony access device fraud related to a Feb. 6 incident. Police said Triplett attempted to deposit a forged check of $750.20 into a bank.
March 25 — Ryan C. Kiss, 38, of McKeesport, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of alcohol following a March 19 traffic stop in Butler Township. Police said Kiss had a blood alcohol content of 0.134%. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is 0.08%.
11:30 p.m. March 29 — Police investigated a vehicle theft in the 100 block of Church Street in Prospect where a gold 2003 Saturn L200 was stolen.
March 31 — Daniel P. Hughes, 28, of Oceanside, Calif., was charged with one misdemeanor count each of marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession following a March 28 incident in Adams Township. Police said Hughes had a small amount of marijuana and a smoking pipe.
March 31 — Kyle N. Grier, 25, of Detroit, was charged with felony access device fraud and misdemeanor identity theft related to a Feb. 15 incident in Center Township. Police said Grier purchased $1,014.36 of merchandise using someone else’s information.
April 1 — Travis Larue Claypoole, 36, of Butler, was charged with two misdemeanor DUI counts following a March 22 traffic stop in Summit Township. Police said Claypoole had a blood alcohol level of 0.105%. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is 0.08%.
