Miller Minutes: If you can’t dye eggs, dye pierogies

Miller Minutes with Molly Miller

Don’t let the price of eggs deter you from going out this weekend. The amount of egg hunts going on in Butler County is truly eggstravagant, and admission is free to most of them.

Because of the price of eggs, I think it’s about time we consider dyeing other items in celebration of Easter. The best idea I’ve come up with is to dye pierogies — since we are from Western Pennsylvania after all. And, they make a great side dish for Easter lunch.

In all seriousness, Butler County arts and charity organizations have been booming with good ideas for events, and this weekend is proof of it. What can we say? We love to gather and make new friends, help those in need, and have a good time. Though this weekend threatens to be wet and chilly (as Prince once said, “Sometimes it Snows in April”), there’s too much you could miss out on if you stay inside!

So grab a basket and a jacket, and make a little racket at these egg hunts, craft bazaars and other events going on in your neighborhood.
