A graduate of Mars Area Senior High School is one of the students who was chosen to present her research in front of Pennsylvania lawmakers at the 2025 Undergraduate Research at the Capitol event, held March 25 in Harrisburg.
Symia Taimuty-Loomis, who graduated from Mars in 2021 and now attends Indiana University of Pennsylvania as a psychology major, presented her research on the effects of psilocybin for treatment of depression and anxiety symptoms.
Taimuty-Loomis was one of only 35 students selected by 30 Pennsylvania schools to present their research in the form of a poster.
