Traffic through Clinton Township will look different over the next few months as the township prepares for a complete reconstruction of Victory Road bridge.

Demolition on the current bridge will begin on April 21 and construction on a replacement bridge will commence the week of May 5. The new bridge is expected to open around the start of July.

The contract for both the demolition and reconstruction of the bridge was awarded to NorthRock Construction during the township supervisors meeting on Wednesday, April 9.

According to township Supervisor Kathy Allen, the bid for the demolition was for $18,000 and the bid for the bridge replacement was for $218,000.

During the time the bridge is out of service, detours will be put in place to redirect traffic.

“All the people going and using that bridge will be rerouted,” said Allen. “There will be signs announcing the closure.”

The bridge, which carries motorists over Davis Run, is near the border between Clinton and Middlesex townships and is 26 feet long. On PennDOT’s Bridge Condition map, the bridge is listed in “poor” condition, with the deck and superstructure listed as “serious.”
