Regina ‘Ginger’ Sporny

Regina “Ginger” Sporny, 83, of Butler, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

She was born in Butler on Nov. 20, 1941, to the late Walter and Helen (Schnitzki) Krul.

Ginger graduated from Butler High School in 1959, and was a homemaker. She was known for being thoughtful, caring, kind and very family-centered. Ginger was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed socializing and spending time with friends and family. She enjoyed antiquing, traveling, reading, doing crafts and cross stitching.

Ginger was the beloved wife of Richard Sporny since their marriage on June 1, 1963; mother of Leanne (Brad) Boyer and Karen (John) Baranko; sister of Karen Puff, John (the late Sue) Krul, Connie (David) Butch and Marianne (Stan) Barth; and grandmother of Kaitlyn Baranko, and Rachel and Chad Boyer. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.

SPORNY — Family and friends of Regina “Ginger” Sporny, who died Wednesday, April 9, 2025, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A closing prayer will immediately follow in the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, at All Saints Parish, St. Conrad Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler.

Burial will be held privately.
