Adams Township burn ban remains in effect until end of April
ADAMS TWP — Although brush fires have decreased in recent weeks, the Adams Township Board of Supervisors is not taking any chances.
At the it’s meeting on Monday night, April 14, the board voted to extend the township’s ban on open burning until the end of April at the earliest.
The township’s burn ban has been in effect since March 12. The ban was declared due to a series of brush fires caused by dry and windy conditions that day. The board of supervisors voted to extend the burn ban at their previous meeting on March 24.
The decision to extend the burn ban once again was made at the recommendation of the Adams Area Fire District. During Monday’s meeting, Supervisor Russell Ford noted that the township had recently received a complaint about the burn ban.
