Olive ‘Judy’ Shearer
Olive Lucille “Judy” Shearer, 98, of Mars, passed away, Saturday, April 12, 2025.
She was born May 6, 1926, in Bethel, Armstrong County, a daughter of the late Jacob George Shearer and Clara Mae (Boyd) Shearer.
Judy had worked as a teller and secretary for Union National Bank. She attended Harvest Bible Chapel, Pittsburgh North. She was a sports fan, watching baseball, basketball and Steelers football. She was a seamstress and had enjoyed cards, board games, reading and going to casinos.
Surviving are her daughters, Bonnie Vensel of Butler, Sue (Bob) Pelles of Mars and Lori Schaffner of Butler; one daughter-in-law, Becky Shearer of Butler; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert M. Shearer, who passed away Nov. 1, 2005; son, James Shearer; grandchildren, Jon and Troy; great-grandchild, McKenzie; four brothers; three sisters; and two sons-in-law, Ron Vensel and Bruce Schaffner.
SHEARER — Friends of Olive Lucille “Judy” Shearer, who died Saturday, April 12, 2025, will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, also from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Funeral services will then follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Jeff Miller will officiate.
Interment will follow in Lawn Haven Memorial Park in Worthington.
