William ‘Bill’ Smith
William “Bill” Kenneth Smith, 92, of Sugarcreek Township, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025.
He was born Feb. 24, 1933, and was a graduate of Kittanning High School in 1951. He was a Korean War veteran and retired from National Fuel Gas in 1990 after 39 years of service. He enjoyed many years of retirement by hunting and fishing.
Bill was a member of St. Paul's Community Church in Chicora, for over 60 years.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 38 years, Susan E. (Patch) Smith, who passed away July 31, 2000. He later married Helen Maxine (Rumbaugh) Smith on Oct. 6, 2001, and Maxine later passed away Oct. 27, 2016. He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Harry Snyder, who passed away in 1993; grandson, Thomas Lee Snyder, who passed away Dec. 27, 2017; brothers, Burton Dean Smith, Dwayne Homer Smith and James Smith; and sisters, Mildred Hooks and Alice Jean.
Survivors include a brother, Orvil Delwin “Butch” and his wife, Madeline Smith, of New Mexico; sister, Linda Smith; son, Donald W. (Carol Sue Cornetti) Smith of Kittanning; daughter, Pamela L. (Michael) Crissman of Worthington; grandchildren, Cheryl Ann Chestnut of Ford City, Holly Dawn (Nicholas) McCausland of Rural Valley and Todd E. (Tina) Crissman of Worthington; his great-grandchildren, Megan (Joseph) Miller, Joshua Snyder, Matthew Snyder, Karen A. (Joseph) Gilmore, Nicholas J. McCausland II, Alana F. McCausland, Owen M. Crissman, Evalyn K. Crissman and Enzo E. Crissman.
SMITH — Friends of William “Bill” Kenneth Smith, who died Saturday, April 12, 2025, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, at SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, 832 E. Brady Road, Cowansville.
Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at St. Paul’s Community Church, 2167 Route 268, Chicora, with Pastor Frank Sapp Jr. officiating.
Interment is in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
