The nonprofit social service agency Lifesteps is offering free development screenings called Child Checks for children up to age 5. The program is available in Butler County, and is supported, in part, by the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania.

The screening uses games and activities to determine a child’s current level of development. A typical Child Check screening takes 30 minutes, and can be scheduled through the Lifesteps website, www.lifesteps.net/services/child-check/
