SRU initiative to host concert for children
Slippery Rock University’s Early Childhood and Elementary Music Community Engagement Initiative will host “Tuneful Tales,” a morning of music-related events for children, on Saturday, April 19.
The event will be hosted at the Swope Music Hall and will be split into three activities. From 10 to 11 a.m., interactive preconcert activities will be offered, including a sing-along room, music and movement space, storytime, and baseball-themed crafts.
Around 11 a.m., SRU student musicians will perform a narrated children’s concert, entitled “Take the Orchestra Out to the Ballgame!” Finally, from 11:30 to 11:45 a.m., children will be given the opportunity to explore real instruments up close at the “instrument petting zoo.”
This event is open to the community and designed especially for families with young children. Admission is free.
