Girl Scout donates cookies, becomes top seller in troop
Graciela Clancy, 7, of Girl Scout troop 36132 in Mars, sold 46 boxes of Girl Scout cookies this season, a high for the recently-formed troop.
Graciela sold so many boxes to people who wanted to donate them back to the troop, that she decided to donate many of the boxes to staff members at VA Butler Healthcare and at the Butler County Government Center.
Graciela’s mom, Shanea Clancy, said Graciela took on an entrepreneurial spirit by setting up booths outside businesses and at community events. While her daughter enjoyed selling the cookies, Clancy said she also wanted to give back through the cookie initiative.
“We had shipped some overseas, as well to active duty military,” Clancy said. “She was the top seller for that in her troop, and when cookies came, she took to that and the marketing aspect of it, and community service and giving back.”
