Jim Bartos

Bartos

It is with extreme sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Jim Bartos, 69, of Zelienople, Friday, April 18, 2025, while working outside on his property, doing what he loved most. He was known as a quiet man and everyone’s “Mister Responsible.”

Jim was the son of Mike and Emma Bartos of Zelienople. He was from a large family and enjoyed many lifelong friendships. He attended St. Gregory Catholic School and graduated from Seneca Valley High School in 1974. Jim was a self-employed cement contractor until retirement. He was a very skilled worker, easily tackling any project that came up. He saw what needed to be done and completed it. Jim was a fair and honest man to the core.

Jim loved his life, he loved his family and friends, helping anyone in need. He thoroughly enjoyed gardening and was known for his large vegetable garden and bountiful fruit trees. He loved feeding the birds and deer, caring for their ponies, and all work around the homestead.

He also enjoyed a large community of friends in Tionesta, Pa.

Jim is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 42 years, Kim Sharp; brother, Richard (Janice) Bartos of North Carolina; brother, Tom (Carol) Bartos of Zelienople; brother, Joe Bartos of Naples Fla.; brother, Bob (Cheryl) Bartos of Harmony; sister, Patricia Bartos of Sewickley; sister, Barbara (John) Davidson of Industry, Pa.; sister, Mary Crisci of Hopewell Township; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also, he will be extremely missed by his in-laws, LaVerne Sharp, Dawn Aubel, Tracy Wack and Susan Sharp; and devoted equine buddies, Fritz, Merry, Jill, Annie, Magic and Buttercup.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael; and father-in-law, Merle Sharp.
