Kellie Squyres

Squyres

Kellie O. Squyres, 47, of Renfrew, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025.

She was born Aug. 8, 1977, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Denise McMurdo and the late John O’Connor.

Kellie was a graduate of Franklin Regional High School, Class of 1995, and a 2024 graduate of Penn State University with a degree in information technology. She had worked for PRI, as director of event planning for 17 years.

Kellie loved her family and her family of friends. Kellie had strikingly beautiful blue eyes that provided a glimpse into her beautiful soul. Kellie was so talented and blessed with an amazing voice, she enjoyed performing vocals with the praise and worship band at Grace Church in Cranberry Township. Kellie was an excellent cook and baker, often creating traditional Irish dishes, pies and her infamous pumpkin gobs.

Kellie lived her life to the fullest with no fear. She traveled to Europe by herself and also traveled to Texas to audition for “American Idol.” She loved Halloween, haunted houses and Disney, especially “Beauty and the Beast.”

Kellie took in a blended family and became the linchpin that made it all possible. Kellie was fierce but gentle. She was the kind of person that could make you feel better just by being there. A special place in the hearts of all of the lives that she touched will never be filled because Kellie was unique and irreplaceable.

Surviving are her husband, Travis S. Squyres, whom she married Feb. 1, 2019; daughter, Maria R. Squyres; son, Ian S. Squyres; her mother, Denise McCurdo; and brother, James Kephart.

She was preceded in death by her father.
