James R. “Jimmy” Anderson, 80, of Hilliards, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Orchard Manor in Grove City, after a period of declining health.

He was born in Hilliards on May 9, 1944, to the late John M. and Olive Bell Crissman Anderson.

Jimmy was a farmer who adored his cows, treating them as if they were his pets. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and had a passion for hunting. He also loved his farm cats and took great care of them. An excellent cook, he often made chocolate chip and walnut cookies, as well as vegetable and cabbage soup. Most importantly, he cherished his family and friends and had a gold heart. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his two brothers, Donald Anderson Sr. of Hilliards and Thomas “Bill” (Rose) Anderson of Hilliards; his niece, Rose M. Hilliards of Meadville; nephew, Donald (Tammy) Anderson Jr. of Hilliards; and his grandnieces and caregivers, Elizabeth (Josh) Mellish of Hilliards and Dawn Anderson and companion, Tyler Steele, of Hilliards. Many more nieces, nephews, cousins and family members also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Nellis; and brothers, Paul and Bob Anderson.

ANDERSON — A private service for James R. “Jimmy” Anderson, who died Tuesday, April 22, 2025, will be held at Eau Claire Cemetery, and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted to H. JACK BUZARD FUNERAL HOME, Eau Claire.
