Carri Schroder
Our hearts are shattered to announce the passing of Carri Ann (Bowser) Schroder, 48 of Valencia, early Friday morning. On April 25, 2025, Carri died at Allegheny General Hospital, surrounded by her family after a yearlong battle with hemochromatosis.
Born June 4, 1976, at Butler Memorial Hospital, she was the daughter of Kathleen (Sweeney) Bowser of Butler and Thomas Bowser of West Sunbury. Carri graduated from Karns City High School in 1994, where she was a band member and Gremlinette.
Carri worked at Penn United Technologies for 29 years, building global customer relationships, many evolving to lifelong friendships. In her lifetime, she enjoyed sporting events including, Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins games; sailing the Caribbean; white sand beaches; her pets; concerts; dancing; word searches; movie trivia and the outdoors. An avid and renowned baker and confectionery artist, Carri thrived during the holiday season preparing thousands of exquisitely detailed Christmas cookies for friends and family.
Above all, was Carri’s selfless devotion, support and unwavering love for her proudest and greatest accomplishment, her son, Alex. In 2024, Carri was humbled and grateful for the gift of organ donation and appreciative of the additional year of life afforded by a liver transplant.
Carri is survived by her husband, Dale Schroder Jr. of Valencia; son, Alexander Karenbauer of San Diego, Calif.; stepson, Hunter Schroder of Valencia; parents, Kathleen (Sweeney) Bowser of Butler and Thomas Bowser of West Sunbury; two brothers, Joel Bowser of Atlanta, Ga., and Dustin (Kayla) Bowser of Chicora; niece, Carlyn Bowser of Chicora; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Carri was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ralph and Martha (Miller) Sweeney and Thomas and Maxine (Haye) Bowser.
SCHRODER — Family and friends of Carri Ann (Bowser) Schroder, who died Friday, April 25, 2025, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 28, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.
