John Malak
John R. Malak, a cherished husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully Monday, April 21, 2025, at the age of 80.
Born on March 20, 1945, he was the son of the late John and Pearl (Szczesny) Malak. John lived a life filled with love, adventure and service. He will be missed by all who loved him.
John was the devoted husband of Elaine (Glogowski) Malak, with whom he shared a beautiful marriage for nearly 59 years, having tied the knot on June 18, 1966. He was a loving father to his children, Michele Garriss, Michael (Rachel) and Jon Malak. As “Pappap,” he found great joy in the lives of his grandchildren, Adeline, Nathan, Owen, Madison and Olivia. He is also survived by his brothers, Joe and Tom Malak. His brother, Paul Malak, preceded him in death.
An avid outdoorsman, John cherished spending time in nature. He found happiness in fishing, hunting and caring for his lake home at Pymatuning lake. Each winter, he looked forward to the warmth of Fort Myers, Fla., where he made many treasured memories.
A proud Vietnam veteran, John served four years in the U.S. Navy, carrying the values of service and dedication with him throughout his life.
MALAK — Family and friends of John R. Malak, who died Monday, April 21, 2025, are invited to celebrate his life with a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Monday at Divine Grace Parish, St. Ferdinand Church, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the Disabled American Veterans in John’s name.
Arrangements have been entrusted to DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township.
