Two football players with local ties were added to NFL rosters on Monday.

Josh Kaltenberger, a 2020 Seneca Valley graduate who started all 12 games at center last fall for Maryland, signed a free agent deal with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Kaltenberger, who helped SV reach the WPIAL title game in 2018, played in 36 games for Purdue from 2021-23. He relocated to Maryland as a graduate transfer.

Eddie Faulkner IV, a defensive back at Slippery Rock University the last four years, was invited to the Pittsburgh Steelers mini-camp next month.

Faulkner started at safety in each of The Rock’s 28 games the last two years. He was named All-Super Region 1 in 2023 and Second Team All-PSAC West in 2024.

Faulkner’s father, Eddie Faulkner, is the Steelers’ running backs coach.
