Kathy Sandusky

Sandusky

Kathy Sandusky, 83, of Cranberry Township, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

Kathy was born Feb. 24, 1942, in Minneapolis, Minn., where she grew up and married Jerry Sandusky, her “sweetheart” of 61 years.

Kathy was daughter of the late Ed Holmes and Bernice Holmes-Hemgren (Howard).

Kathy was known for loving Jesus and loving people. She was heard greeting her days with “Good Morning World!”

She was an active member at LifePointe Alliance Church in Mars, listening to the Awana Sparks say their verses, singing in the choir, serving in the church kitchen, helping with the ladies’ ministries and assisting the treasurer.

She was very patriotic, loved the USA and appreciated all our soldiers.

Kathy was generous, enjoyed giving gifts and was known for sending cards at just the right time to let someone know they were in her thoughts and prayers.

Over the past 47 years Kathy has been an important part of her community, sharing her joy in the Lord by reaching out to help those in need.

Her daily mission was to have fun while brightening someone’s day.

She made lots of friends as she worked at Dudt Bakery in McCandless, Dunkin’ Donuts in Wexford and Cranberry Township, and as she helped open and worked for 18 years at the Chick-fil-A in Cranberry Township, where she was known as “Grandma.”

She loved being at church and with their small group, sewing, bowling, gardening, golfing and helping Jer on the green with his putting game.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Sandusky; her daughter and favorite son-in-law, Brenda and Boyd Elliott of Cranberry Township; her favorite son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Donna Sandusky of Princeton, Ind.; nine grandchildren, Brittany Elliott, Brooke Elliott, Matthew and Stephanie Sandusky, Jenny and Tristan Hinkel, Nathan, Lexi, Addy, Vanessa and Zoey Sandusky; 13 great-grandchildren, Gracie, Will, Hazel, Parker, Lucy, Titus, Jed, Anna, Caleb, Remedy, Boaz, River and Jordan; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and so many friends in their church and in the community.

SANDUSKY — Family and friends of Kathy Sandusky, who died Sunday, April 27, 2025, will gather from 10 a.m. until her celebration of life service at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 1, at LifePointe Alliance Church, 997 Route 228, Mars, PA 16046. Pastor Gary Dindinger will lead us in worship of her Savior, Jesus.

Kathy will be laid to rest privately at Pinewood Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, Kathy would have liked donations to be made to the Awana Kids’ Club Ministry at the LifePointe Alliance Church in Mars.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to BOYLAN-GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.

Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
