Bruce A. MacDonald, 84, of Slippery Rock, passed away Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

Born Dec. 24, 1937, in Westminster, Md., he was the son of the late Dr. William A. and Virginia (Pandy) MacDonald.

Bruce was a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. He obtained his degree in architecture.

Bruce was employed as an architect for the City of Pittsburgh until his retirement. After retirement, he went on to work for Slippery Rock University.

He was a member of the Aussie Rescue and Helpline Inc., Associated Artists of Butler County, Butler County Family YMCA/Armco Park, Jennings Environmental Education Center of Slippery Rock, The Salvation Army of Western Pennsylvania, Carnegie Mellon University, Slippery Rock University and American International Red Cross.

Surviving are two daughters, Valarie L. MacDonald and her husband, James Judge, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, Victoria L. MacDonald of West Hampton, N.Y.; and his stepdaughter, Jamie Frayer of Butler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Hattie MacDonald; his second wife, Jacqueline M. Uytenbogart; and his sister, Lorna.

MACDONALD — There will be no public viewing for Bruce A. MacDonald, who died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, Butler.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bruce to the charity of the donor’s choice.
