Louise Anne Kush Pawlowicz
Louise Anne Kush Pawlowicz of Butler returned to her heavenly home Saturday.
Her devotion to her family and her strong faith in God provides peace and comfort for her family.
Louise was born to Thadeus and Mary Kush on Jan. 14, 1940, in Windber, Pa. Her father was an immigrant from Poland and arrived with his siblings at an early age.
Louise's parents were married for over 50 years and she is survived by her sister and friend, Dorothy Salay of Colorado, and she was preceded in death by her siblings, Thaddeus Kush Jr. and Joseph Kush.
Louise was married to her surviving spouse, Dr. John S. Pawlowicz Jr. They were engaged on Easter day in 1964 and remained a loving couple for 52 years.
She was blessed with four boys and their families, Dr. John Pawlowicz III (Dr. Elizabeth Pawlowicz), Dr. Kevin Pawlowicz (Mary Beth Pawlowicz), Jerry Pawlowicz, MBA, (Melissa Pawlowicz) and Dr. Jason Jon Pawlowicz (Ashley Pawlowicz).
Mom often joked she always wanted a daughter and she received her wish with her blessed grandchildren, Joshua, Jack, Jane, Nathan, Annabelle, Josie, Thadeus and Owen, who referred to her simply as “Nana.”
Louise graduated from Windber High School and finished her nursing degree in Philadelphia. Her working career took her to Pittsburgh, where she would meet John. Louise and John remained a team and started Pawlowicz Dentistry, which in 2014 celebrated its 50th year providing service to the Butler Community.
In addition to providing tireless love and support to her husband, she provided comfort, support and a loving relationship to her children. She was awesome and reliable.
She also provided her time and talents throughout her life to various organizations and her friends. She cherished her friendships that have provided so many countless memories. She was a past volunteer and contributor to many charities including the Butler Junior Women's Club, the Butler Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Multiple Sclerosis Association, the St. Jude Foundation and the Butler Country Club. She was actively involved in supporting a cure for Alzheimer's disease and her most important legacy will be the everlasting Catholic faith she instilled and nurtured in her family.
Louise will be remembered by her beautiful and endless smile. Even as she struggled with her Alzheimer's disease at the end of her life she would still respond with a smile, “I love you more.”
