Ronald Lockwood
Ronald William Lockwood, 85, of Emlenton, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away Dec. 31, 2021, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born July 27, 1936, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Arthur William and Cecelia (Hundertmark) Lockwood.
He was a graduate of Baldwin High School, The Art Institute of Pittsburgh and Indiana University of Pennsylvania.Ronald was a veteran. He served as a medic in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1958.Ronald taught English at Butler Junior and Senior High schools. He was the principal of Karns City High School. He was the supervisor of student teachers at Clarion University. He was also the mayor of Cherry Valley, from 1971 to present, and presided over many weddings.Ronald's memberships included vice chairman of the Butler Parks and Recreation Association, and the Butler Little Theatre as an actor, director, producer and board member.He enjoyed travel, both domestic and internationally, hiking through his woods, and his love of dogs. He could be counted on to adopt any of the dogs that came his way throughout his life.He is survived by his brother, Robert M. Lockwood, and his wife, Barbara, of Melbourne Beach, Fla.; his nephews, Robert M. and David A. Lockwood; his great-nieces, Cecelia and Karina Lockwood; his great-nephews, Carter R. and Colin R. Lockwood; and his longtime friend, Robert Harrison, who was with him through this last hospitalization.LOCKWOOD — Family and friends of Ronald William Lockwood, who died Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, are invited to a visitation from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
