Ethan A. Rensel of Portersville is one of three new troopers assigned to Butler-based Troop D. Joining Rensel at the troop are Dustin A. Scheerbaum of Emlenton Venango County and Samantha L. Thompson of Aliquippa, Beaver County.

A Butler County resident is among the new troopers who are part of the Pennsylvania State Police Academy's 157th graduating cadet class.

The graduation ceremony was recently held at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in Harrisburg, marking the culmination of 28 weeks of classroom and physical training.
