Carole Schmidt

Carole M. Schmidt, 76, of Fairview, Haysville Road, Karns City, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly Wednesday morning at her home.

Mrs. Schmidt was born in Pittsburgh on March 5, 1936. She was the daughter of Charles and Margaret Thompson Brown.

She was a 1954 graduate of Wilkinsburg High School. She was a U.S. veteran and served as a dental technician with the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1956. She was a homemaker and enjoyed baking.

Carole was a member of the Fairview United Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband, Frederick G. Schmidt, who she married in Concord Township on March 31, 1956.

Also surviving is a daughter, Suzanne M. Fennell and her husband, Ricky, of Bradford, Ohio; two sons, Frederick G. Schmidt Jr. of Butler and David A. Schmidt and his wife, Tina, of Butler; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; a brother, Jon Brown and his wife, Judy, of Tacoma, Wash.; two sisters, Joy Ploesch and her husband, Will, of St. George, Utah, and Megan McConnell of Frederick, Md.; a sister-in-law, Inez Schmidt of Butler; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Edwards.

SCHMIDT — Friends of Carole M. Schmidt, who passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.A funeral service will be at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Dennis Barger, pastor of the Scrubgrass Stone Church of Emlenton, officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home.
