Slippery Rock hunter hurt in fall from tree stand
WEST LIBERTY — A Slippery Rock man who fell from a tree stand Saturday while bow hunting was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment of multiple injuries.
Emergency responders said the man, who is 35 years old, was hunting with a family member in a wooded area behind 156 Rhoer Road when he lost his balance while in the tree stand and fell at least 20 feet.
The man suffered injuries to both his ankles and a possible back injury. He was flown to Allegheny General Hospital by a Stat MedEvac helicopter from the scene, said Ken Taggert, Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company chief.
The man’s name was not released by the fire company, and a hospital spokesman said no information on his condition was available this morning.
