Theodore 'Derk' Nye
Theodore T. "Derk" Nye, 83, of Butler died at 8:30 p.m. Monday at his home.
Born Oct. 24, 1923, in Lyndora, he was the son of Joseph and Victoria (Penar) Nietrzeba.
He worked for a State Liquor Store in Pennsylvania, then for the space program in Connecticut, and he retired from Herr-Voss in Callery.
He enjoyed antiques and gardening.
Mr. Nye was a Navy veteran who served during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Beatrice F. (Checkan) Nye, whom he married May 2, 1944; and three sisters, Helen Kovach of Butler, Mrs. Raymond (Frances) Black of Butler and Mrs. Charles (Genevieve) Doria of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ted T. Nye; two sisters, and three brothers.

"Derk" Nye, who died Monday, May 14, 2007, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday before the 11 a.m. funeral services at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B> in Butler.
