Moniteau graduate Aslyn Pry compiled 29 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and seven blocked shots Saturday as the Butler County Community College women’s basketball team defeated Westmoreland CCC, 62-40, in the Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference championship game.
The victory marked the Pioneers’ fifth WPCC title in the last six years.
Butler graduates Emma Monteleone and Hailey Metzger scored 13 and 10 points, respectively. Pry, Monteleone and Metzger all made the All-Conference team.
BC3’s women play at Anne Arundel Saturday at noon in the Region 20 tournament.
Slippery Rock 80, Seton Hill 67 — The Rock (12-10, 8-8) snapped a four-game losing streak as Frankie Hughes came off the bench to score 24 points and grab seven rebounds. Amante Britt added 15 points and three assists, Jonathan McFall 14 points.
Butler graduate Tyler Frederick tallied seven points and nine rebounds.Jimmy Moon led Seton Hill (3-20, 3-15) with 16 points.
The Rock hosts Clarion at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
Seton Hill 56, Slippery Rock (women) 52 — Anyah Curd scored a career-high 17 points and snared seven rebounds for SRU (10-12, 5-11). Jamiyah Johnson added 11 points, 13 rebounds and six steals. Kelly Middleton contributed 10 points and six rebounds.
Katie Nolan scored 17 points and Samantha Kosmacki 16 for Seton Hill (20-7, 19-4).
The Rock travels to Indiana (Pa.) Monday.
