Paul Graham Douthett

Paul Graham Douthett, 91, of Warrendale, Marshall Township, died Wednesday morning at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford.

Born May 22, 1924, in Butler, he was the son of the late Graham Edwin and Flora Meeder Douthett.

Paul had served as a gunner's mate second class in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Later, he became a tree surgery expert and supervisor, retiring after 43 years with the Davey Tree Expert Co.

He was the president of the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Association since 1959, and was still active in the day-to-day operations of the cemetery.

He was a member of the IBEW Union Local 1919 in Pittsburgh. He also belonged to the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church in Wexford. He was very active in the Marshall Township Community.

Surviving are two daughters, Paula Latislaw (Douglas) of Los Angeles and Karen Troutman (Gilbert) of Edinboro, Pa.; his son, Jeffrey P. Douthett (Terri) of Springfield, Pa.; and his grandchildren, Rainey Rowan, Paul Douglas Latislaw, Rebecca and Josh Troutman and Tim and Amanda Stranen.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Rowan Douthett, who he married Oct. 6, 1948, and who died Oct. 4, 2011; his sisters, Helen Kelley, Wilma Marshall, Elva Hughes and Ruth Bock; and his brother, Russell Douthett.

DOUTHETT — Friends of Paul Graham Douthett, who died Wednesday, May 4, 2016, will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Dan Corll officiating. Burial with military honors will be at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Pine Township.Memorials may be made to the Mt.
