Helen L. Selfridge, 79, of Butler died Friday morning at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born April 4, 1931, in Butler, she was daughter of the late William and Margaret (McWilliams) Johnson.

Helen had worked at the Hoagie Shop in Butler for 10 years and volunteered in the kitchen at the Butler Salvation Army.

Surviving are her son, Albert C. Selfridge Jr. of Butler; three daughters, Patricia Hilliard of Petrolia and Harriet Claypool and Bonnie Claypoole, both of Butler; three brothers, Ed Johnson of Butler, Paul Johnson of West Sunbury and Don Johnson of Maryland; 46 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; a son-in-law, Leroy Eddinger of Butler; and a daughter-in-law, Kathy Selfridge of Chicora.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert C. Selfridge Sr., who she married Aug. 31, 1950, and who died Nov. 1, 1994; two sons, John A. Selfridge and Ronald C. Selfridge; a daughter, Linda Eddinger; a son-in-law, Leonard Hilliard; and nine brothers and sisters.

<B>SELFRIDGE</B> — Friends of Helen L. Selfridge, who died Friday, March 11, 2011, will be received at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Capt. Henry Thibault of the Butler Salvation Army will officiate.
