Two arrested in city drug bust
Investigators allegedly found a diverse array of drugs in a Monday night bust in the city.
With a warrant granted by District Judge Amy Marcinkiewicz, the Butler County Drug Task Force on Monday searched 120 South Street, where investigators said they found various amounts of suspected crack cocaine, cocaine, marijuana and a substance that could be heroin or fentanyl, according to charging documents.
“The suspected crack cocaine and cocaine were field tested, and (they) tested positive,” said the lead investigator in the affidavit. “The suspected heroin or fentanyl was not field tested because of safety concerns of fentanyl exposure.”
After the search, two residents of the home were charged. Desmond R. Cash, 49, and Tamela L. Stevens, 47, were both charged with four felony counts drug sales as well as misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession and marijuana possession.
Both Cash and Stevens were arraigned Monday morning by Marcinkiewicz, and they were placed in Butler County Prison on $100,000 bond each.
They will appear next for preliminary hearings before District Judge William Fullerton, but those dates are not yet available.
