Barbara Ann Brothers, 65, of Chestnut Street in Fairview died Monday at Western Pennsylvania Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a short illness.

Born in Fenelton, Oct. 19, 1942, she was a daughter of the late James Vern and Helen Ruth Lucas Shanafelt.

She was a Methodist.

A 1960 graduate of Karns City High School, she received an associate degree in accounting at Butler County Community College and was a specialist tax preparer for H&R Block at the time of her death.

She married Samuel W. Brothers Aug. 3, 1963, in Winchester, Va. He survives along with two daughters, Valeria Lee Booher of Chestnut Street, Petrolia, and Leslie Jane Larimore and her husband, Jeffrey, of Petrolia; six grandchildren, Toby Larimore of Butler, Stephanie Servis of Warren, Pa., Lynda Tahon of Mars and Alana, Lucas and Devin Booher all of Chestnut Street, Petrolia; six great-grandchildren, Josephine, Aiden and Brady Servis, all of Warren, Pa., Landon Larimore of Butler and Dakota and Levi Tahon, both of Mars; three brothers, Rodger Shanafelt and his wife, Cindy, of Vermont, Arthur Shanafelt and his wife, Kathy, of Knox and Dallas Dean Shanafelt and his wife, Sue, of Tionesta; and five sisters, Darlene Rodgers and her husband, Clyde of Butler, Sandy Beichner and her husband, Ben, of Pine City, Patricia Allmindinger and her husband, Jack, of Knox, Pamela Shively and her husband, Jeff, of Karns City and Robin Ivol and her husband, Don, of Bethel Park; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Nancy Shanafelt of Rimersburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were two brothers, Larry and Ronald Shanafelt, and two sisters, Mary Jane Shanafelt and Linda Williams.

<B>BROTHERS</B> — Friends of Barbara Ann Brothers, who died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at <B>Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home</B>, 102 Argyle St., Petrolia. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Leonard Forsythe of St. Petersburg, Clarion County, officiating. Burial will follow at Worthington Lutheran Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the Petrolia Volunteer Fireman's Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 21, Petrolia, PA 16050; or to the American Liver Foundation, 75 Maiden Lane, Suite 603, New York, NY 10038-4810.
