Plummeting prices
The price of gasoline has hit below $2 per gallon in the Butler area as this sign shows Wednesday at Sam’s Club in Butler Township. With crude oil prices at a 12-year low, drivers can expect to see falling gas prices at the pump for at least the next several weeks, said Chelsea Pompeani of AAA’s Pittsburgh office. The average pump price of $2.04 for gas in the Pittsburgh region is still above the national average of $1.85, but she expects to see prices continue their fall at least until March.
