A woman is behind bars after being accused of stabbing a woman over $80 Tuesday afternoon in the city.

Danielle N. Kline, 39, who does not have a listed address, turned herself in to Butler police around 1 p.m. Wednesday. Earlier in the morning, authorities had requested the public’s help locating her.

Around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, she was arraigned by District Judge William Fullerton on charges including felony attempted homicide, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and robbery.

Fullerton set Kline’s bond at $50,000, citing the severity of the charges and previous failures to appear in court.

Police also filed charging documents Wednesday that accuse Kline of stabbing another woman. Police were dispatched at 3:42 p.m. Tuesday to the 500 block of State Street, where they found a woman being treated by Butler Ambulance Service personnel.

“The victim suffered a wound to the left abdomen,” said Butler police Chief Bob O’Neill in a news release Wednesday.

In the affidavit, investigators said the assailant left her purse behind at the scene, and the stabbed woman grabbed it as she fled the area.

Police said that woman also claimed her assailant attacked her to take $80 cash. She identified Kline as her attacker.

“Inside the purse is a wallet with a debit card belonging to Danielle Kline,” police said.

According to O’Neill, the alleged victim was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment.

“There are no updates available on her injuries at this time,” he said.

According to court documents, police also reviewed city traffic cameras for more information.

Police said the two women are seen in the 7-Eleven parking lot on West Jefferson Street around 3:04 p.m. Wednesday before parting ways and reconnecting on Birch Street. Police said Kline had her purse as they reconnected.

Kline was then seen leaving Birch Street onto South Chestnut Street.

“Kline no longer has her purse in hand as she walked south toward West Cunningham Street at 3:21 p.m.,” police said.

A preliminary hearing for Kline is scheduled Feb. 28 before Fullerton.
