Margaret A. 'Peg' Baptiste
Margaret A. “Peg” Baptiste, 73, of Fenelton died Tuesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.
Born Jan. 24, 1938, in Worthington, she was a daughter of Charles and Grace (Bonner) George, who are deceased.
Peg was a homemaker who enjoyed caring for others. She was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church, Coylesville. She was a CCD teacher, a volunteer, co-chairwoman for the Funeral Dinner Committee and a member of the Marian Guild and the Legion of Mary.
She also belonged to the Happy Hunters Club in Fenelton, worked at the Herman Volunteer Fire Department raffles in the kitchen and selling tickets, and enjoyed going to garage sales, baking and collecting.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters. Her sons, Dennis M. Baptiste and Michael C. Baptiste and his companion, Shannon Barr, all live in Fenelton. Her daughters, Diana Baptiste and her companion, Tim Bauer, and Karen Hodak and her husband, John, all live in Butler.
Others surviving her include three grandsons, David Rodgers Jr., Daniel Rodgers and Guyd Baptiste; her great-grandson Joshua; her brother, Gary George of Kittanning; and a son-in-law, John Walton of Virginia Beach, Va.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman N. Baptiste, who she married Aug. 13, 1960, and who died Jan. 18, 2000. Her daughter, Michele Walton, died in April 2011. She also was preceded by a granddaughter, Kylie, four brothers and one sister.

GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John Roman Catholic Church, Coylesville. Please meet at the church.
