Mary K. Heastings

Mary K. Heastings, 82, of Cumberland Crossing, formerly of West View, Allegheny County, died Friday at the Vincentian Regency.

Born Aug. 11, 1923, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Walter and Mildred Born Kunkle.

Mrs. Heastings was a devoted wife, mother and friend.

She is survived by her husband, John W. Heastings; a daughter, Nancy M. Heastings of California; three sons, Richard J. and his wife, Barbara Jo, Heastings of Washington, Pa., David W. Heastings and his wife, Sally R. Miller, of West Deer Township and A. Douglas and his wife, Mary Kay, Heastings of McCandless Township; three grandchildren, James R. and his wife, AnneMarie, Leyden, Sarah E. Heastings and Spencer D. Heastings; and a great-granddaughter, Amelia M. Heastings.

Her son, David, is the Butler Eagle's city editor.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Walter A. Kunkle.

HEASTINGS — Friends of Mary K. Heastings, who died Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at SIMONS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 7720 Perry Highway, Ross Township. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to the Forest Avenue Presbyterian Church, 898 Forest Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15202 or to a Meals-on-Wheels of the donor's choice.
