Scott Dingel

Scott D. Dingel, 51, of West Sunbury, passed away Friday, Aug. 13, 2021, at Butler Memorial Hospital after a vicious battle with cancer.

Scott was born Sept. 25, 1969, in Butler, and was the son of the late Donald R. Dingel and Marjorie A. Frye Dingel.

Scott was a boilermaker for Boilermakers Union 154. He was a member of the American Legion Post 243, and also the VDSSA Snowmobile Club.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and an avid car enthusiast. He enjoyed spending time with his son, his many friends and family.

Scott is survived by his mother, Marge Dingel of West Sunbury; one son, Dylan Scott Dingel of Slippery Rock; one sister, Dawn (Kenneth) Steiner of Eau Claire, and their children, Cody and Nicholas; one brother, Douglas R. Dingel (Trisha Sickle) of Saxonburg, and his children, Noah, Josephine and Trenton; and two half-sisters, Susan Steffy and Donna J. (Frank) Kowalkowski, both of Butler.

Scott was preceded in death by his father.

DINGEL — A memorial service for Scott D. Dingel, who died Friday, Aug. 13, 2021, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the United Church of the Nazarene, Halston Road, West Sunbury, with Pastor Tim Britton officiating.

Burial will be private.

Arrangements are under the direction of William F. Young Funeral Home, West Sunbury.
