As a part of its free concert series, the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department will host Bud Goldinger and Loren Faulx at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Carousel Shelter at Alameda Park.

Members of the former Butler AARP, chapter 2242, will meet for lunch at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Villa Grande Restaurant, 186 New Castle Road.Participants should call Verna Vargo at 724-287-1344 for reservations.

St. Fidelis Children's Hour is now accepting registration for the September-through-May school year.The program is open to children ages 3-5.The cost of the program is $10 plus a $30 activity fee which includes crafts, music, Bible stories, snacks, prayers, and guest speakers.For information or to register, call Barbara Baum at 724-283-5291 or Ann Isaacs at 724-482-4152.

The Butler Mental Health Association and the Women's Commission of the Inter Faith Fellowship of Churches will host a summer picnic for residents of the Butler Torrance facility, their families and friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday in the Rotary Shelter at Butler Memorial Park.In case of rain, the picnic will be held at the Mental Health Association, 140 N. Elm St. The meal and entertainment will be provided.Participants are asked to call 724-287-1965 for reservations.

PENN TOWNSHIP - The Penn Township Vounteer Fire Company has begun its annual fund drive.Letters requesting donations have been sent to residents within the company's service area.Residents can also send donations to Penn Township V.F.C., P.O. Box 1911, Butler, PA 16003-1911.

Descendents of the Eichenauer and Rubyfamilies will hold a reunion at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Miller Shelter at Butler Memorial Park.Members should take two or three favorite tureens, five bingo prizes and a non-perishable food item.Place settings and beverages will be provided.The Gerwick familywill hold a reunion at 1 p.m. July 11 at Hughes Park in Emlenton.Meat, rolls and beverages will be provided. Participants should take table service, a covered dish to pass and items for an auction.The Claypoole family,descended from Howard and Myrtle Ace Claypoole, will hold a reunion from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. July 11 at Bruin Park.Participants should take a covered dish and dessert to share and a gift for an auction.Games will be played and the meal will begin at 12:30 p.m.For information, call Mary Boofer at 724-399-9183 or Peggy Martin at 724-756-4342.Notices, in writing, of festivals, fund-raising events, newly elected officers and other news from clubs and non-profit groups should be sent to the Focus department one week in advance of the event.
