Butler Township PoliceFriday — Dorothy M. Nail, 77, of Portersville was charged with drugged driving stemming from a crash last month when she drove into three large pieces of equipment parked in front of the Ritenour Equipment Center building on Route 68.Police got to the wreck and found Nail, who was still seated in her Buick Regal that was facing the front door of the building. She did not know what happened, court documents said.Officers inspected the crash scene and found tire marks in the grass but no brake marks to indicate she tried to stop before hitting the equipment, which included a more than 1-ton loader, a nearly 1-ton utility task vehicle, and a more than 3-ton skid steer.The 6,600 pound skid steer stopped Nail’s car, which sustained heavy damage. A Butler Ambulance Service crew evaluated the woman, but she refused medical treatment.While speaking to Nail, police suspected she was impaired by a narcotic. She admitted she had taken her prescription of morphine along with the anti-anxiety drug alprazolam, documents said.A blood test later confirmed she had morphine and anti-anxiety medication in her system.In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, she also was charged with careless driving, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes and driving at an unsafe speed.Friday — Police charged Shaney May Ina Hockenberry, 43, of Slippery Rock with drunken driving and several traffic violations in connection with a traffic stop last month.Officers stopped Hockenberry about 11:40 p.m. Nov. 26 after spotting her vehicle drift over the center line and fog line on Route 8 south in the area of the Pickle Gate Crossing. She was pulled over a short time later near the General Butler Bridge after red light violation.Police said they smelled alcohol coming from Hockenberry, who was arrested after failing field sobriety tests. She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test.Toxicology reports received Thursday showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.171 percent, more than twice the state’s 0.08 percent legal limit, according to court documents.Hockenberry is charged with DUI, careless driving, disregarding traffic lanes, improper passing and failing to stop at a red light.
State Police, Butler6:55 p.m. Sunday — A woman was arrested after she allegedly attacked a man in a parked vehicle in Parker Township. Police suspect alcohol was a factor in the altercation.Andrea L. Brink, 33, of Grove City is accused of pulling Larry Lee Scott, 42, of Grove City from the front seat of the vehicle parked on the side of Route 268. Scott landed on the ground and suffered a cut to the bridge of his nose.Brink and Scott were both intoxicated, according to police. Brink was placed in the Butler County Prison to await arraignment charges of simple assault, harassment, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.Police said Scott, who was released to the custody of a friend, was cited for public drunkenness.
State Police, Kittanning7:29 p.m. Friday — Adam C. Hooten, 29, of Kittanning was arrested at a store in the Franklin Village Mall in East Franklin Township on a warrant for failing to pay child support.
State Police, MercerSunday — Police reported that a Crawford County man faces several charges in a suspected identity theft case earlier this year in Wolf Creek Township.The alleged thief, Christopher Geibel, no age given, of Cambridge Springs allegedly wrote checks from the victim’s bank account, forging the account holder’s signature, on Sept. 17 and Nov. 15.Geibel is facing charges of forgery, theft by deception and identity theft.
