Mars grad Bednar selected in first round of MLB Draft
Mars High School graduate Will Bednar was selected No. 14 overall by the San Francisco Giants in the first round of the MLB Draft Sunday night.
Bednar was dominant for Mississippi State in the College World Series, which had him climbing draft boards rapidly.
Bednar struck out 15 in six innings in his first CWS start and capped the championship series against Vanderbilt with six no-hit innings to lead the Bulldogs to the national championship.
