Sunday — Police arrested Ryan M. Napier, 37, of Butler stemming from the suspected theft of four new tires last month from a home in the 100 block of Third Avenue.Napier on Dec. 27 allegedly took the vehicle tires, valued at $651, that were next to the house. He later sold the tires for $460, according to court documents.The buyer, who was unaware the tires were stolen, subsequently returned the property to the owner.Napier was arraigned on charges of theft and receiving stolen property, and was placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.8:26 p.m. Saturday — George A. Ashbaugh, 52, was caught with suspected marijuana after police were called to his apartment in the 500 block of South Main Street for a reported domestic disturbance.While officers were there, according to court documents, they saw Ashbaugh take a small plastic baggie of suspected marijuana from a front pants pocket and try to hide it in the sink.He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana.9:23 a.m. Friday — A fugitive wanted by authorities in the state of Indiana was arrested following a domestic call in the 300 block of North McKean Street. The suspect, Joseph N. Stedman, 23, no known address, initially gave police a bogus first name and refused to give his last name, court documents said.Officers searched Stedman and found an identification card issued out of Indiana. Police said they later learned that Stedman was wanted by the Indiana Department of Corrections.Stedman, who is charged with false identification to law enforcement authorities, is being held in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.

Monday — Police charged Lindsay N. Maples, 27, of Butler in connection with the fraudulent return of merchandise Sept. 1 at Walmart in Butler Commons.Maples is accused of taking two car seats, valued at $179, and then attempting to return them for a refund, a police report said. She is charged with attempted theft by deception.6:25 p.m. Sunday — Jerry A. Higley, 22, of Prospect was nabbed for allegedly trying to steal seven items worth about $112 from the Walmart store at Butler Commons. Higley is charged with summary retail theft.8:18 p.m. Saturday — Joshua D. Walker, 23, of Kittanning was caught allegedly shoplifting a $2 bottle of strawberry milk from the Sheetz store on New Castle Road. Walker, who has a prior shoplifting arrest, is charged with misdemeanor retail theft.12:26 p.m. Saturday — A 17-year-old girl, who police did not identify, ran a stop sign and was struck by another vehicle driven by Ambuer M. Hinchberger, 33, of Butler.The girl was ticketed for the stop sign violation. Police also cited Hinchberger for driving an unregistered vehicle and driving with a suspended vehicle registration.5:13 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Amy Powell-Achenbach, 19, of Butler struck another vehicle at Belmont Road and North McKean Street. Police cited Powell-Achenbach for a stop sign violation. Amy Bullman, 45, of Butler was the other driver.3:23 p.m. Wednesday — Kimberly K. Mosler, 24, of Valencia, is accused of assaulting 24-year-old Tina English at English's home in Lyndora's Bredinville area. English suffered minor injuries. Mosler is charged with simple assault and harassment.

8:50 a.m. Monday — An 8-year-old Prospect boy was hurt in a one-car wreck in Muddy Creek Township. The crash happened when Jeffrey Miller, 39, of Prospect lost control of the car and struck a tree along Route 488 just east of Pleasant Valley Road.Police did not identify the boy, who suffered unknown injuries. He was wearing a seat belt.Saturday — Three unknown females between 11:35 and 11:59 p.m. stole several items, including two handguns, from a 51-year-old man's home in Venango Township. The man had earlier invited the suspects to his house.Also stolen were a laptop computer, watch, binoculars and cash.9:14 a.m. Dec. 17 — An unknown burglar pried open the main door to the office at Prestige One Auto Sales on Route 68 in Donegal Township and stole a 5-gallon water container that was half full of assorted coins. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.Dec. 9 — Twenty-nine oxycodone painkillers were stolen from a patient's room at the Chicora Medical Center in Donegal Township. The theft happened between Dec. 4 and 9.

9:24 p.m. Friday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Brian A. Thomas, 20, of Williamsport, Lycoming County, crashed on snow-covered Route 208 in Clinton Township, Venango County.6:44 a.m. Friday — A car driven by Chris Persad, 48, of Bayonne, N.J., slid into a guardrail on snow-covered Interstate 80 in Clinton Township, Venango County. Police cited Persad for driving too fast for conditions.3:26 p.m. Thursday — An Emlenton woman ran afoul of the law after trying to steal a turkey while using the self checkout at the Walmart store in Cranberry Township, Venango County. The suspect, 44-year-old Susan Holton, is accused of placing the turkey, valued at $5.86, into a bag without scanning it.Police said she also removed the bar code from a hand lotion product that cost 97 cents and held it over the bar code for a bottle of shampoo that cost $5.48.Holton is charged with retail theft and criminal mischief.
