Kathleen E. Matz, 72, of Slippery Rock died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday at the Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Crafton, Allegheny County, June 18, 1938, she was the daughter of Joseph W. Kasper and Genevieve Englemeir Kasper.

She married Regis J. Matz on April 4, 1964.

Mrs. Matz was a homemaker and the owner of the Dance Boutique in Slippery Rock, which she operated during the late 1980s.

She graduated from St. Phillip's School and later from Crafton High School.

She enjoyed crafts and model trains.

She was a member of the St. Peter Catholic Church in Slippery Rock.

Surviving are her husband, Regis J. Matz of Slippery Rock; two daughters, Michele A. and her husband, Lee McCracken, of Grove City and Jennifer A. and her husband, William Blandford, of Elkridge, Md.; three sons, Joseph M. and his wife, Debora Matz, of Cranberry Township, Keith R. and his wife, Terry Matz, of Fort Bragg, N.C., and Regis M. and his wife, Stacy Matz, of Slippery Rock; a brother, Paul Kasper of Verona, N.Y.; three sisters, Sister Adele Kasper, D.P. of Pittsburgh, Jean and her husband, Jack Sweeney, of Anaheim, Calif., and Diane and her husband, John Slagle, of Peters Township; a brother-in-law, Tom Breen of Geneva on the Lake, Ohio; and 14 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother and a sister, Barbara Breen.

<B>MATZ</B> — Services for Kathleen E. Matz, who died Sunday, April 3, 2011, will be at the St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 670 S. Main St., Slippery Rock, Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. with Father Kevin Poecking officiating. Visitation will be at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Peter Parish.
