5:40 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Lucas Schorr, 25, of Bridgeville, Allegheny County, and a pickup truck collided at Routes 68 and 356. The crash happened when Schorr turned in front of the pickup driven by Brian Amos, 52, of Butler. Police cited Schorr for making an improper left turn. Tuesday — Zachary P. Toy, 27, of Kittanning was arrested on charges stemming from a shoplifting incident Aug. 3 at the Walmart at Butler Crossing. Toy is accused of returning four sets of bed sheets, which were taken from the store, for a Walmart gift card. Ashley L. Hiles, 27, formerly of Cowansville, Armstrong County, his alleged accomplice, helped him in the crime, according to a police report. Hiles is accused of taking the merchandise, valued at valued at $210, from the store to Toy, who was waiting in a car in the parking lot. He later completed the suspected false return. Toy was arraigned on a felony count of conspiracy to commit retail theft and misdemeanor charges of theft by deception and receiving stolen property. He is free on his own recognizance. Police previously arrested Hiles in the same case. She is charged with felony retail theft as well as theft by deception and receiving stolen property. Grove City PoliceWednesday — Someone stole 15 parking meters and a water valve from the Grove City Youth Soccer Association parking lot. The theft happened between Sept. 27 and 30.State Police, Butler5:27 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Mary Thompson, 69, of Butler and a pickup truck driven by David E. Titley, 49, of Karns City collided on Route 8 in Center Township. Police cited Thompson for making an improper turn.Sept. 24 — Someone broke into a home on Greenway Lane in Mercer Township. The break-in happened between April 1 and Sept. 24. A police report did not say if there are any suspects.State Police, Mercer2:45 p.m. Tuesday — Two people were hurt when a car driven by Brandon L. Hennegan, 23, of Slippery Rock rear-ended a pickup truck that was stopped behind a school bus on Route 19 in Perry Township, Mercer County.The collision forced the pickup driven by Vergil Taylor, 79, of Cranesville, Erie County, into the bus. The truck rolled over and caught fire. Hennegan and Taylor were both taken to UPMC Greenville with minor injuries. Both were wearing seat belts.A police report did not identify the driver of the bus, which had no passengers.Police cited Hennegan for driving at an unsafe speed, driving without a license, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving without valid inspection.
