Darley Vaughan
Darley Vaughan, 84, quietly passed away Monday evening.
Born Oct. 13, 1932, in Butler, Darley Ruthene List was daughter of the late Lonnie List and Ruth Whiteside List.
Darley lived on the family's Saxonburg farm, attended Rocky Run School, Winfield High School, then Slippery Rock Teaching College and taught second grade at Clinton Elementary School.
She married Glenn Vaughan on June 20, 1953, in Montery, Calif. She stopped teaching to work in the home raising four children.
Darley loved her God, her church and her family. For many years she taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school as a lifelong member of Clinton Presbyterian Church in Saxonburg, where she was a deacon.
She also enjoyed baking, reading, chatting on the phone to friends and entertaining family. In addition Pete and Darley were longtime volunteers for Meals on Wheels.
Celebrating her life are Pete, her husband for 64 years; her children, Scott (Nancy) Vaughan of Columbus, Ohio, Paula Vaughan of Sarver, Susan (Dan) Herper of Largo, Fla., and David (Danielle) Vaughan of Butler; her grandchildren, Jessica, Cody, Kathleen, Tara, Leah, Erin, Marc and Tori; and her great-grandchildren, Judah and Sarah; who agree she was the greatest wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Mila Sue List, and an infant son, Thomas Glenn Vaughan.
VAUGHAN — Friends of Darley Vaughan, who died Monday, July 17, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Clinton Presbyterian Church, 197 Glade Mill Road, Saxonburg.A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. at the church Saturday with the burial to follow immediately.In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Freeport Meals on Wheels.For more information, please visit www.foxfuneralhomeinc.com.
