Butler graduate Hailey Metzger scored 20 points and Moniteau graduate Aslyn Pry snared 20 rebounds, but the Butler County Community College women’s basketball team dropped a 52-45 decision to Prince Georges CC in the Region XX championship game over the weekend.

The Pioneers defeated Anne Arundel CC, 68-59, in the Region XX semifinals. Pry tallied 23 points and 31 rebounds. Metzger scored 21 points and Butler graduate Emma Monteleone added 15.

Penn Highlands 101, BC3 (men) 85 — Knoch graduate Julian Sanks scored 37 points for the Pioneers in this Region XX tourney loss. Butler graduate Mattix Clement scored 22 points and Troy Loughry netted 13.

Slippery Rock 68, Gannon 63 — The Rock (15-10, 11-8) won its fourth straight game as Butler graduate Tyler Frederick scored 16 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and had three steals. It was his 10th double-double of the season.

Amante Britt scored 19 points, had six assists and five rebounds for SRU, which clinched its fourth consecutive winning season. Britt received the Pop Knauss Memorial Scholarship before the game. Jonathan McFall contributed 11 points.

Gannon slipped to 12-12 overall, 9-11 in PSAC play.

Gannon 73, Slippery Rock (women) 47 — Daeja Quiick scored 12 points, had three rebounds and three steals for SRU (11-14, 6-13). She became only the fourth player in program histrory to amass 800 points, 250 assists, 250 rebounds and 100 steals in a career.

Jamiyah Johnson had 12 points, five rebounds and three steals for The Rock. Gannon improved to 21-5 overall, 16-5 in league play.
