Constance Forcht Channing
Constance Forcht Channing, 67, of Jacksonville, Fla., passed away Sunday after courageously battling breast cancer for over 23 years.
She was the beloved wife of 45 years to Wesley Channing; mother to Natalie (Eric) Brown, Melinda Channing and the late Michelle Channing; daughter of the late Gerald and Doris (Cornibe) Forcht; sister of Jeanne (Stanley) Graff, JoAnne (William) Ripple and the late Susan (Len) Cooper; and grandmother to Myles and Harrison Brown.
During her younger years in Butler, Connie really enjoyed being an active member of the CD of A Drum and Bugle Corps. She graduated from Butler High School in 1968 and earned a four-year degree from Slippery Rock State College in 1972.
Besides being a loving and wonderful mother and wife, Connie was a teacher at Tower City High School in, Pa., and Jefferson Davis Middle School in Jacksonville, Fla. She also worked with the elderly for the Office of Aging in Westmoreland County, Pa. Connie enjoyed gardening, reading and puzzles.
