5:31 p.m. Saturday — June E. Rearick, 45, allegedly swiped another woman's load of laundry from a washing machine at their apartment building in the 300 block of North Washington Street. Rearick is charged with theft.7:59 p.m. Thursday — Kelsee A. Thompson, 22, of Oakland Township is accused of a hit-and-run crash while driving a car she took without the owner's permission.Thompson allegedly took the car, belonging to her ex-girlfriend's mother, and later rear-ended another car stopped at a red light at North Monroe and East Jefferson streets.Police said the defendant stopped and told the other driver that she did not have her insurance card. She left after assuring the other driver that she would return after retrieving the card. But she never did, police said.Officers spoke to the car's owner, Tara Smith, who did not know the defendant had taken the car. Smith advised police that Thompson easily could have taken the car without her knowledge because the key was previously broken off in the ignition “so it just has to be turned to start,” according to court documents.Police eventually located Thompson, who admitted being involved in the crash. Police charged her with felony theft as well as hit-and-run and driving without a license.3:21 p.m. Wednesday — Michelle R. Mullins, 40, of Fombell, Beaver County, was arrested after she allegedly shoplifted a $3 can of body spray from the Family Dollar at Pullman Square.Mullins, who has three prior shoplifting arrests, was arraigned on a felony count of retail theft. She was placed in Butler County Prison and released Friday after posting $2,000 bail.

Monday — Bobby E. Anderson Jr., 30, of Butler was charged with filing a false report to police stemming from a supposed hit-and run accident about 3:05 p.m. Nov. 21.Police said Anderson claimed he was hit by a vehicle that was backing out of the McDonald's restaurant. Officers reviewed the video surveillance, according to a police report, which showed Anderson “was not struck by the vehicle as reported.”8:34 p.m. Friday — Two teenage girls were caught allegedly shoplifting merchandise from the Walmart at Butler Commons. Police said the suspects, ages, 16 and 17, each hid about $30 in cosmetics items in a purse.The girls, who police did not identify, are both charged with retail theft.9:34 p.m. Thursday — A young girl was hurt when a car she was riding in crashed on East Brady Street near Butler Memorial Hospital. Rebecca Kosinski, 32, of East Brady, Clarion County, lost control of the car and hit a tree and mailbox.Kosinski's 4-year-old daughter was taken to BMH with a minor injuries. The car sustained severe damage.Police said Kosinski was cited for driving on the wrong side of the road and careless driving.

7:01 a.m. Monday — No one was hurt in a four-vehicle wreck in Summit Township. The crash happened after Herbert E. Hays, 73, of Alum Bank, Bedford County, lost control of his pickup truck on Route 422 at Bish Road.Hays' pickup sideswiped a Peterbilt truck driven by Nathan L. Elmadollar, 36, of Petrolia and caromed into a car driven by a 17-year-old Chicora girl, who police did not identify. The pickup finally stopped but not before hitting a sport utility vehicle driven by Richard J. Becker, 72, of Evans City.

5:05 a.m. Monday — A minivan driven by Bernard M. Dospoy, 64, of Cambria County struck a deer on Route 422 in West Franklin Township.3:30 a.m. Monday — Jason S. Anderson, 36, of Worthington was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after he was found sleeping in the McDonald's restaurant drive-through at Franklin Village Mall in East Franklin Township.1:31 a.m. Monday — A 45-year-old West Kittanning man, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Briar Hill Road in East Franklin Township.11:25 p.m. Saturday — Richard P. Clark, 32, of West Kittanning was arrested after he allegedly assaulted 28-year-old Annie L. Hooten at her Pleasantview Drive home in East Franklin Township.Police said Clark grabbed Hooten by the throat and pushed her down the stairs. The defendant was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and placed in Armstrong County Jail on $10,000 bail.Saturday — A 32-year-old Kittanning man is suspected of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl at a home in East Franklin Township. Police said the investigation continues and they did not identify the suspect.

Dec. 3 — A utility trailer was stolen from a home on Fleming Road in Pine Township, Mercer County. The 2013 Down to Earth model trailer was taken Dec. 2 or Wednesday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-662-6162.

5:10 a.m. Monday — Scott S. Anderson, 57, of Zelienople struck a deer on Interstate 79 in Plain Grove Township. Anderson was uninjured but his car had to be towed away.
