Martino Bosin Sr.
Martino J. Bosin Sr., 100, formerly of West Leechburg, died at 12:58 p.m. Monday at the Ross Ridge Manor, Manor Township, Armstrong County.
Born Aug. 27, 1906, in Ziano DeFemme, Provence of Trento, Italy, he was son of Antonio and Caterina Giacomusi Bosin.
He had been a coal miner at Canterbury Coal Co. in Apollo and retired in 1965 after 42 years.
Mr. Bosin was a member of Christ the King Parish in Leechburg, the United Mine Workers of America, the White Star Club in Freeport, the Spartaco Club in Arnold, the Marconi Lodge in Leechburg and the West Leechburg Volunteer Fire Company.
He enjoyed playing bocce, hunting, fishing, gardening and reading.
Surviving are three sons, James A. (Judith) Bosin of Butler, Martin D. (Beverly) Bosin Jr. of West Leechburg and Peter P. (Adeline) Bosin of Gilpin Township, Armstrong County; a daughter, Mary (Frank) Spachtholz of Ford City; four grandchildren, Kelly Cox, Maegen Hess, Tracey Carlisle and Lance Bosin; and four great-grandchildren.
His wife, Lena T. Revi Bosin, died Feb. 16, 2003. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Philip and John "Nino" Bosin; and two sisters, Theresa Zanotti and Mary Marco.
<B>BOSIN</B> — Friends of Martino J. Bosin Sr., who died Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>CLAWSON Funeral Home</B>, Second at Main streets, Leechburg. Parting prayers of transfer will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A Christian funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Christ the King Parish, Leechburg, with the Rev. Joseph Trupkovich officiating.
