Norman Lee Carroll
Norman Lee Carroll, 92, of Butler passed away Tuesday at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.
He was born July 24, 1926, in Ransom, Kan., and was a son of the late Hugh Belford Carroll and the late Ruth Naomi Stewart Carroll.
Norman was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Coral Sea Aircraft Carrier as main engine officer.
He attended Kansas University, where he received his bachelor's degree in business and his bachelor's degree in engineering.
Norman then worked for Westinghouse in Cheswick as a mechanical engineer and was also owner/operator of Applied Test Systems for many years before retiring.
He is survived by one son, Robert G. Carroll and his wife, Anita, of Mars; two grandchildren, Alayna Carroll and Riley Carroll; one brother, Keith Carroll and his wife, Mary, of Burlington, N.C.; two nieces, Alison Smith and Angela Hunnicut; and one nephew, Keith William Carroll.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Yotti Carroll, whom he married Aug. 29, 1953, and who passed away on June 24, 2012; and one brother, Bobby Carroll.
CARROLL — Friends of Norman Lee Carroll, who died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 107 Staley Ave., Butler, with the Rev.
