Donna “Joan” Miller
Donna “Joan” Miller, 89, of Butler passed away Thursday at her residence.
She was born Aug. 1, 1929, in Concord Township, and was the daughter of the late Roy H. and Marjorie (Groom) Thompson.
Joan was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday school.
She worked various jobs throughout her life, including at Kmart for 21 years, and she enjoyed being a cafeteria monitor at Home-acre School.
Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are two daughters, Vivian Miller of Butler and Virginia Pellis of Irwin; three grandchildren, Kimberly (Rich) Michniak, Rachel McCandless and Sara (Stephen) McLafferty; her great-grandchildren, Avery Michniak and Waylon McLafferty; her brother, Veryl (Hazel) Thompson of Chicora; a sister, Edyce (George) Kepple of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Miller, who passed away on April 14, 1981; a daughter, Wendy McCandless; and two sisters, Audrey Manor and Barbara Fair.
MILLER — Friends of Donna “Joan” Miller, who died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Young Funeral Home, 127 W.
