West Sunbury U.P.The Mission and Stewardship Committee of West Sunbury United Presbyterian Church, 215 East Church St., West Sunbury, will accept completed offering cards through Oct. 22. Cards can be mailed to the church office or placed in the offering plate.Sunday is the last day to register for the fourth mission trip to Slidell, La., to assist with Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts. A$50 deposit is due in the church office upon registration.Adonation jar has been placed in the vestibule to receive monetary donations for the Moniteau Food Pantry. The program collects donations each year to purchase fresh produce for distribution with pantry items for Thanksgiving and Christmas. The cost for last year's purchases were $2,500.The Fellowship Committee is asking for monetary donations for goodie boxes for college students and service personnel. Families of students and service people should call the church office at 724-637-2436 to verify names and addresses.The Christian Education Committee is creating shoeboxes filled with presents for underprivileged children in foreign countries for Operation Christmas Child. Church members may decorate their own shoebox to fill with gifts or take one from the narthex. Boxes should be filled with gifts for a boy or girl and returned to the church by Nov. 19. Monetary donations are also being accepted to ship the boxes. Cost is $7 per box.
